Langerin （CD207） is a type II transmembrane C-type lectin?which is encoded by the CD207 gene in humans. Langerin is known to be associated with the formation of Birbeck granules in Langerhans cells （LCs）. LCs are immune cells closely related to macrophages, but by their function, they are more like conventional dendritic cells （cDCs）. Langerin is a highly selective marker for Langerhans cells and the lesional cells of Langerhans cell histiocytosis.
